Interested in Fostering?

Fostering is the heart of Coastal Carolina Kittens. As a foster-based neonatal rescue, we rely on loving, dedicated foster homes to help us care for orphaned newborn kittens, bottle babies, special needs kittens, and kittens needing extra support before they are ready for adoption, then transferred to one of our rescue partners where they are placed in loving homes!

Fostering gives vulnerable kittens a safe place to grow, heal, and receive the one-on-one care they need during the most fragile stage of their lives. Whether you have experience with kittens or are brand new to fostering, we are here to help guide you every step of the way.

What Do Foster Families Do?

Our foster families provide temporary, in-home care for kittens in need. Depending on the age and needs of the kittens, this may include feeding, cleaning, socializing, monitoring health, giving medications when needed, and helping kittens grow strong enough for their next chapter.

Some of our kittens may need bottle feeding, tube feeding, special needs support, or basic kitten care. We do our best to match fosters with cases that fit their comfort level, experience, and availability.

We Provide Support

Coastal Carolina Kittens provides guidance, training, and ongoing support to our foster families. We never want our fosters to feel alone. Our team is here to answer questions, help troubleshoot, and support you through the process.

When supplies are available, we help provide items such as formula, food, litter, medications, and basic care supplies. Most importantly, we provide the education and encouragement needed to help you feel confident caring for kittens in your home.

Who Can Foster?

You do not have to be a medical expert or have years of experience to make a difference. A good foster is someone who is patient, dependable, willing to learn, and able to provide a clean, safe, loving space for kittens.

Fosters must be able to follow care instructions, communicate with our rescue team, and understand that kittens can be fragile and require close attention — especially neonatal kittens.

Why Foster?

Fostering saves lives. Every foster home allows us to say “yes” to more kittens in need and helps support other local rescues who may not have the resources for neonatal or special needs care.

Even a short time in your home can change the entire future of a kitten’s life.
